Dr. Enlander Offers Free Herpesvirus Testing for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Patients

CFS & FM specialist Dr. Derek Enlander, MD, a clinical instructor at Mt. Sinai Medical Center with a private practice in New York City, is offering free testing for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome patients to determine the intracellular presence of several herpesviruses. These are HHV6 (Human Herpesvirus Six), CMV (cytomegalovirus), and EBV (Epstein-Barr Virus).

The test involves your provision of a simple throat swab and mouth swab, which your doctor can perform in a few seconds, says Dr. Enlander. Two swabs should be taken, one each from the throat and the buccal (mouth) areas.

There is NO charge for the testing, and the results will not be available until the end of the study.
