use and increase sensitivity during breast self-exams,
making for a more effective examination.
WHERE & WHEN: During National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, October
2002, the Aware(TM) pads will be available free with
payment of a nominal shipping and handling charge of $5.95

WHY: Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer among women
in the United States. More than 180,000 will be diagnosed
this year with breast cancer and approximately 40,000 women
will die from the disease (National Cancer Institute).
Over 70 percent of cases occur in women who have no
identifiable risk factors. And, although 96% of women are
aware of the importance of breast self exams, only 29%
perform them regularly.
