Listen to Your Body

I have suffered with the diagnosis of Fibromyalgia for over 30 years… I want to say, do not let your doctor tell you that all your complaints/symptoms are all Fibromyalgia, because they may not be. I listened to the doctors and thought they must know.

I have a bad back and was told it was fibro, but I found out it is in bad shape with degenerative disease and more. Now I am seeing a neurosurgeon, and more than likely will have back surgery in the near future.

My point is, “listen” to your own body/mind and don’t assume everything is Fibromyalgia [or ME/CFS] and suffer. If anything, get another opinion. – Bonnie McCue

I agree with Bonnie. I, too have been diagnosed for over 28 years, although things really just came to a head this past February with all the severe pain mainly in my legs. But I always double check with whatever specialist it is that I feel I need to see because the ME/CFS has made me develop a ton of other health problems. Since I’m not a doctor and can’t tell if it is the ME/CFS acting up or if it is a real problem, I let an expert tell me. I can rest a lot easier with a doctor telling me that it is my ME/CFS and I don’t need that front tooth pulled. Than to run and just get the tooth pulled first and be sorry later.

I totally agree, get a second opinion if you need to! Don’t keep suffering.

I SUFFER FROM FIBROMYALGIA FOR ALMOST 6 YEARS NOW, AND I REALLY UNDERSTAND HOW DIFFICULT IS TO DEAL WITH A CHRONIC PAIN ALMOST EVERY DAY OF MY LIFE. IS A VERY DEPRESSED SITUATION BECAUSE I WANT IT TO DO ALL THE THINGS I USED TO DO BEFORE AND I CAN’T DO THEM ANYMORE. AFTER 2 YEARS WITH THE FIBRO THE DOCTOR TOLD ME THAT I ALSO DEVELOP OSTEOPOROSIS I WAS HAVING SO MUCH PAIN IN MY BACK FROM NECK TO BOTTOM AND THAT WAS THE REASON FOR MY PAIN, BECAUSE AT THE BONE DENSITRY THEY FOUND THE OSTEOPOROSIS AND ALSO I HAD 2 HERNIAT DISK TOO.. I AM ONLY 47 YEARS OLD WITH A WONDERFUL HUSBAND, AND 3 DAUGHTERS THAT UNDERSTAND SO WELL WHAT I AM GOING THRU.. I KNOW THAT UPTHERE ARE SO MANY GOOD PEOPLE THAT ARE SUFFERING LIKE I DO, BUT ALWAYS LISTEN TO YOUR HEART NOT TO NEGATIVE PEOPLE THAT DON’T UNDERSTAND OR DON’T WANT TO BELIEVE THAT FIBROMYALGIA PEOPLE EXIST. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE.

I AGREE TO WITH BOTH COMMENTS. SOMETIMES WE NEED TO LOOK FOR MORE THAN ONE OPINION BECAUSE DOING IT, YOU CAN FIND MORE SUPPORT SOMETIMES.
