Nicola McFadzean-Ducharme, ND, a naturopathic doctor in San Diego, California, has just completed her fourth Lyme disease book, entitled Lyme Brain. This is one of the best books that I’ve seen out there on the topic of neurological Lyme disease, which contains real-life solutions for people battling an array of neuro-Lyme symptoms such as brain fog and other cognitive problems, as well as depression and anxiety. In the book, Dr. McFadzean-Ducharme goes into the many causes of Lyme Brain, including, but not limited to, infections. Inflammation, the hormones, mold, diet and other factors can contribute to Lyme Brain, so addressing each of these is important.
I myself have suffered from a myriad of cognitive issues due to Lyme, as well as anxiety and depression, and have learned a lot about how to mitigate these symptoms over the past 12 years. I was honored to be able to share some of these things are in a contributing chapter to Dr. McFadzean-Durcharme’s book. I also wrote about them in an article that was published in July, 2016 in Townsend Letter. I encourage you to read about them, as I believe some of these tools and strategies may help you too, along with all of the other helpful and wonderful information shared in Dr. McFadzean-Durcharme’s book.
If you battle symptoms of “Lyme Brain,” take heart, there is hope! Treating symptoms of Lyme Brain can be challenging and difficult, but Dr. McFadzean-Durcharme makes the journey easier by outlining here, step by step, what you can do to ease a wide array of symptoms and conditions that cause it. I especially like this book because the author doesn’t get bogged down in too much hard-to-understand scientific detail, yet the book is based on solid science.
