We thank Dr. Pellegrino for hosting a Live Q&A in the ProHealth.com Chat Room on September 19.
And he joins us in thanking the FM community for their record attendance and literally hundreds of questions – regrettably far more than could be addressed in a brief chat. To read a script of the Q&A – which also included Dr. Pellegrino's answers to many questions that patients submitted in advance – see "Q&A Session with fibromyalgia Doctor Mark J Pellegrino, MD.

Additionally, Dr. Pellegrino's highly recommended book – Fibromyalgia: Up Close and Personal – may be ordered starting today in the ProHealth.com store (under new products). You can read about it there, but for a taste of the help this dedicated doctor offers, read the excerpts listed below:

Fibromyalgia – Ultimately a Disease of Amplified Pain
"Many conditions can lead to permanent changes in the pain transmission mechanism and result in chronic pain that overwhelms the body’s pain defense mechanisms. One such condition is Fibromyalgia.”

Why Weight Gain is a Problem with Fibro, and What to Do About ItIdeally we need a diet that improves the efficiency of our calories burned and enhances our calorie-burning abilities.

Candidiasis – Yeast Infection and Nutritional Repair
Causes, symptoms, testing, natural antiyeast and probiotic strategies, The Fibromyalgia Diet, and trigger avoidance.

Those Dysfunctional Autonomics
IBS, irritable bladder, depression, migraine, anxiety/panic attacks, orthostatic intolerance – all involve dysfunctional or hypersensitive autonomic nerves and all can be part of Fibromyalgia, but may require separate treatment approaches.”

The Fibromyalgia Spectrum – Part of the Big Picture in Understanding FM
"I’m convinced FM is a broader condition with various subsets, and this model helps me to organize and educate patients.”

Mentally Managing Fibromyalgia
'Stress is a major reality in FM. But there are ways to reduce its toll on our bodies.”

  1. crusade says:

I have his book (Up Close and Personal)which is written in a user friendly manner representing us sufferers, and the impact of the medical community, workers’ compensation industry and more. He goes to bat for us with documented clinical results and challenges the legal system that supports the dollar rather than the patient/client. He applies the same procedure to the medical profession that fails to recognize the multi-challenges of Fibromyalgia. So, if you are looking for information, support, and tell it like it is, view Dr. Pellegrino’s book!!!

    Cheers and start feeling better,
    Crusade
