Tip of the Day

For many, losing weight is an important step to help ease arthritis pain. Knowing the correct portion sizes of the foods you eat will help reduce overeating. According to the American Dietetic Association, a serving size of meat, fish or poultry is roughly the size of a deck of cards; pasta, cooked vegetables or leafy greens should amount to the size of a tennis ball; a bagel should be no bigger than a hockey puck; and serving size of cheese is equal to three dominoes. Thinking of portion sizes in this common sense way will help cut calories and drop pounds.
