Keeping a positive attitude can truly affect your health. Optimism acts directly on your immune, hormonal, and cardiovascular systems, and increases the likelihood that you will take part in health-promoting behaviors like exercising, eating well and following your health care provider’s advice. Optimism also increases the likelihood that you’ll get support from friends, loved ones and the community.
