Women who regularly skimp on sleep – getting fewer than seven hours a night – increase their risk of developing heart disease by up to 45%, according to a recent study (2003). But don’t use that as an excuse to sleep in: The women who sacked out for more than nine hours every night were almost as likely to suffer from heart problems. Your heart stays strongest when you get between seven and nine hours.
