In addition to its many other benefits, exercise is the most effective stress-management method for many people. They would tell you they don’t need a scientist to confirm it, but many studies have done so. Recent studies at Duke University found that regular exercise, combined with a stress-management program that included psychotherapy and relaxation techniques, led to better heart function in people with established cardiovascular disease.
