Stress can exacerbate symptoms of fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. For many, cognitive behavioral therapy helps teach relaxation techniques, such as deep breathing, meditation, and techniques for coping with stress. Patients are also encouraged to simplify their lives if possible by paring down social obligations and accepting their own limitations.
