If multiple food allergies are troubling you, as they often do people with CFS, then for now the diversified rotation diet might be your answer [Editor’s note: You should always consult your physician before beginning a new diet]. In this diet, you rotate your foods, so that every day for four days you consume only certain vegetables, grains, fruits, and sources of protein. After four days, the cycle begins again, so that what you eat on Day One you can eat again on Day Five, and what you eat on Day Two you can repeat on Day Six. By rotating your foods, you are calling on only certain enzyme systems on a given day, which gives the other systems a chance to recover. Also, like the elimination diet, the rotation diet makes it easy for you to see which foods are causing you problems.
