Here are a few great coping tips from the book, "Taking Charge of Fibromyalgia": -Take frequent breaks throughout the day to change positions. If you're sitting for a long time at your job, in a movie theatre, in a plane or car, get up, move around, and gently stretch. -A very hot bath once or twice a day can work wonders to give you temporary pain relief and relax your mind as well. -Take your favorite pillow along on trips. It will save your neck! -Check muscle tension throughout the day – are you tensing your shoulders, holding your breath, or clenching your teeth? -Keep a back pillow (lumbar support) in your car to relieve tension when driving. You can buy specially designed ones or place a rolled-up towl between the small of your back and the car seat.
