Myofascial release is a technique developed by physical therapist John Barnes. Myofascial release is a very gentle form of bodywork designed to relieve restrictions and tightness in connective tissue (fascia). When properly performed, it often decreases connective tissue's pull on bones, allowing muscle fibers to relax and lengthen and organs to expand.
