In this video, Dr. Kenny De Meirleir talks about the use of LDN (low-dose naltrexone) for relieving some of the symptoms of fibromyalgia and ME/CFS. While, in his experience, LDN does not affect energy levels, it has a positive effect on sleep and pain. Anecdotal evidence from ME/CFS patients suggests that LDN may also help improve digestion. Given the enormous influence of opioid receptors on mitigating pain (e.g. morphine), insomnia, and regulating the digestive tract, it should not be surprising that LDN would produce an improvement in so many people with ME/CFS.
