The Dr. Oz Show’s Medical Unit enlisted 100 women, ages 25 to 45 for a placebo controlled trial. They report that the women taking 400 mg green coffee extract 4 times a day without changing any other factor, including exercise/activity or food intake, lost an average of 2 pounds in the first two weeks without any apparent negative effects. Dr. Mehmet Oz, MD, reviews other trials suggesting even more impressive results, and some of the metabolic mechanisms researchers believe are involved.
