One of the most important things I can do for myself is using the affirmation “I am not OK but I am working on it”. It has been proven that we hear what is said after a “but” and it helps refocus our mind on the positive. If today I have to rest more, this statement says it is the right thing to do for me at this moment. When I use this statement with others they often ask about my activity of the day, I find it allows the conversation to focus on the treatments not the symptoms. No more complaining!
