VIDEO: Stem Cells Grow New Joints – at Mayo

Dec 5, 2012: “Stem Cells are the starting point for all the tissues in your body. Your body grows them all the time. So, researchers at the Mayo Clinic thought, why not put them to work healing damaged tissues like heart muscle or bone?” Here, they’re used to encourage new bone growth in a deteriorating hip joint, as an alternative to joint replacement – “a minimally invasive 45-minute procedure that poses very little risk.”
