Weight Loss Tip of the Day

Here are some more reasons to drink plenty of water throughout your day to be healthy. According to the Mayo Clinic, lack of water can lead to dehydration. Even mild dehydration of as little as 1 percent to 2 percent loss of your body weight can sap your energy and make you lethargic. Dehydration poses a particular health risk for the very young and very old.

Signs and symptoms of dehydration include:

* Impaired concentration

* Headache

* Irritability

* Fatigue

The amount of water you drink needs to increase if you are active or outside in hot or humid weather. To determine if you’re getting enough water in your day, a ballpark measure is to look at the color of your urine. If your urine is pale yellow, you’re probably drinking enough fluids. If your urine is dark yellow and has a strong odor, or if you go to the bathroom less than four times a day, you probably need to increase your water intake.
