Description

Digestive enzymes supplements are central to proper digestion. Without sufficient enzyme levels, our bodies could not absorb all of the nutrients in the food we eat. Vital Enzymes™ overcomes this problem by providing potent levels of the enzymes betaine, HCL, bromelain (from pineapples,) Papain (from papaya) pepsin, and pancreatin.

Vital Enzymes™ – a digestive enzymes supplement- contains active ingredients that help your body digest dietary proteins, sugars, carbohydrates, fiber, and fats within the gastrointestinal system more easily. Vital Enzymes™ is formulated with optimized proportions of the many natural digestive enzymes that we need. These all natural food enzymes, include lipase to digest fats, protease for protein, and amylase for sugars, to enhance the efficiency and speed of digestion*. What Are Enzymes in this digestive enzymes supplement, and What Do They Do?
Enzymes are various types of proteins that spark the body’s biochemical processes. Enzymes control the chemical reactions of all organisms, big and small. More than 3,000 different enzymes have been identified in the human body. These enzymes build new proteins, cells, tissues, and organs. We all rely on optimal enzyme activity throughout our lives to enjoy peak health. Digestive enzymes supplement such as ProHealth’s Vital Enzymes support healthy digestive processes. Gastrointestinal problems such as occasional digestive upset, which can result from improper or incomplete digestion, can be reduced with digestive enzymes supplements. Here are some of the key enzymes included in this complex formula: Bromelain: Bromelain is a protein digesting enzyme that is widely used in sports medicine to combat the discomfort from strenuous physical activity. One study conducted by an orthopedic surgeon showed that administering bromelain to 59 of his patients resulted in a clear reduction in both swelling and discomfort.* Papain & Pancreatin: Also known as proteolytic enzymes, papain and pancreatin aid the digestion of proteins and support proper inflammatory responses in the body. Betaine: This enzyme carries and donates methyl molecules to support chemical processes important to proper liver function, cellular replication, and detoxification. *Source: Food Chem Toxicol. 1995;33(12): 2061-1080. *These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA. Frequently Asked Questions

Are the animals used to make this product organically fed?
No, the animals used to produce Vital Enzymes are not organically fed. Does Vital Enzymes present a guaifenesin blocking risk? I know it has papaya powder and bromelain derived from pineapple so aren't these potential salicilate sources?
If the papaya and pineapple in this product were from extracts, oils or gels it would be a blocker and would not be on the sal free list. However, as it stands Vital Enzymes does NOT pose any salicylate threat since the Papaya and bromelain are powders.
