The easiest way to shed body fat and keep it off is to become more active. Physical activity is an essential part of fat loss, particularly because it increases your metabolism and makes your body more efficient at burning fat. The more exercise you do, the less you have to worry about calories, and the greater your weight loss will be. By burning 250 calories to 500 calories a day through exercise, you could lose up to a pound of fat a week (7 x 500 = 3,500) - without restricting food intake. Over a one-hour period, walking briskly can burn roughly 400 calories.

By exercising regularly, you're doing your body and health a huge favor. Years of research show that regular exercise can reduce the risk of heart disease, cancer, diabetes, osteoporosis, obesity, depression, and many other physical and mental ailments.
