Weight Loss Tip of the Day

As most of you are aware, there is a distinct difference in the amount of sweat produced by men and women. Although women possess more sweat glands than men, they generally sweat less. It appears that most women rely more on circulatory mechanisms to dissipate heat, whereas most men rely more on evaporative cooling. Those individuals who sweat even more need to be extremely conscious of their overall fluid intake during and after exercise. For women, menstruation does play a role in a female’s response to exercise. Women sweat less during the two weeks prior to menstruation, and sweat more during the two weeks after the onset of menstruation. While this change in temperature regulation does not affect athletic performance, it will change fluid requirements during different parts of the menstrual cycle.
