On May 8, 2002, Tracy Loeffler, President of Invisible No More, FMS-CFIDS-MCS-MPS, announced "Due to an increasingly damp weather forecast, the Walk for Awareness will be replaced with an indoor meeting at the Best Western Gateway Hotel on Saturday, May 11." The itinerary for the meeting will stay the same with the same speakers. Ms Loeffler stressed that the increasing possibility of rain "Makes it difficult, if not impossible, to hold an outdoor event for patients and advocates with weakened immune systems and INMFCM will not put anyone's immune system at risk."
The event which had been organized over a year ago was intended to include a Walk around Peace Circle near the Capitol building. INMFCM regrets the change in plans, but feels strongly that this is the safest course for the day.
The speakers for the event include: Jacob Teitelbaum, MD, author of "From Fatigued to Fantastic"; Scott Davis, Esq., SS/LTD Disability expert; Sabrina Johnson, Founder and CEO of FACES, Inc; Paula Carnes, CFIDS advocate; Sharon Sauer, CMTPT from the Paragon Clinic, Tracy Loeffler, founder and President of INMFCM; Melanie Woodruff, on-line forum leader and writer; and Anne-Marie Vidal, patient advocate and writer.
The event which had been organized over a year ago was intended to include a Walk around Peace Circle near the Capitol building. INMFCM regrets the change in plans, but feels strongly that this is the safest course for the day. INMFCM also wants to continue to extend an invitation and hope that a variety of organizations, individuals, and support groups will join us in planning activities for Awareness Day 2003.
