March 16, 2007

Research being conducted at McLean Hospital in Belmont, Massachusetts - a suburb of Boston - will study the effectiveness and safety of an investigational drug for symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The trial is identified as NCT00401258 at ClinicalTrials.gov.

McLean Hospital’s invitation to potential study subjects, with contact information, is as follows:

  • Do you suffer from diarrhea, constipation, or a combination of both?
  • Are you also troubled by abdominal pain, bloating, cramping, or discomfort?
  • You may have irritable bowel syndrome.
  • If so, then you’re invited to call the Biological Psychiatry Program at McLean Hospital in Belmont, Massachusetts. The Biological Psychiatry Program seeks subjects for a 14-week research study using an investigational medication for irritable bowel syndrome.

If interested, please call (617) 855-2434 to see if you qualify to take part in this research study.
