Requesting Separate Chat Rooms
I appreciate all of the information that you make available to those of us looking for resources. I would like to tell you though, as a person with CFIDS, it would be much appreciated to have a designated chat room rather then being lumped together. I feel that you would better serve the CFIDS community by matching like with like. This would certainly be appreciated and give more continuity to both of the groups. – Ron
Note: We're glad you asked. As part of our ongoing ImmuneSupport.com site redesign we now offer our site users both a CFS chat room and an FM chat room.
The Pain Info Site I Like Best
…I would like to tell other readers about the pain site I utilize. I suffer from both CFS and FMS and I just love this site! It's http://www.painfoundation.org, and it is the home of the American Pain Foundation. The wonderful thing about this site is that is for all types of chronic pain and "invisible disabilities." There are message boards and chat rooms, and online "experts" as well.... This APF site has become my home, and the people there have become my family… - Patty
Note: We second your enthusiasm about the Pain Foundation site. See our recent articles on their “Downloadable Guide to Pain Treatment Options for Patients, Healthcare Providers, & Caregivers”, and their “Pain Management Trial Directory”, maintained in collaboration with CenterWatch.
Thanks for Larger Print
Congrats to the Webmaster for creating the largest font size to read. I now can read your worthy newsletter. Yippee! - Betty
Chronic Illness Initiative Targets College Opportunities
I just wanted to alert you that the Chronic Illness Initiative (CII), at DePaul University's School for New Learning in Chicago, will host its third annual Symposium on Chronic Illness and Postsecondary Education on the afternoon of May 23rd. We will have a great speaker, Pat Fennell, and discussion breakout groups. The event is free, though space is limited. – Lynn Royster, Director, Chronic Illness Initiative
Note: For more information on this initiative and the upcoming symposium program, and links to the CII website, see the item in this issue titled “Making College an Option for Chronically Ill Students”.
Articles and Comments Helpful
I have to say, I love many of the articles that you include. I have Fibromyalgia and unfortunately, it does control my life. I enjoy so much, reading your articles and people’s comments. They really do help. - Paul
