The University of Miami (Florida) Behavioral Medicine Research Center is recruiting subjects for a study of a home-based Chronic Fatigue Syndrome care program that will allow subjects with CFS living in Florida’s Broward and Dade Counties to participate via telephone.

This research project - The TeleHealth Study - will test the benefits of a telephone-based program for helping individuals with CFS to better understand and manage their condition. It is funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in collaboration with the University’s Behavioral Medicine Research Center.

Participating CFS patients will be provided with information about:

  • The nature and effects of stress reactions;
  • How to cope and manage stress; and
  • How to take better care of themselves via an innovative home-based program.

To be eligible for participation, patients must:
1. Have a diagnosis of CFS
2. Live in Dade or Broward counties for the next 9 months
3. Be between the ages of 21 and 65
4. Speak, read and write English fluently
5. Have a telephone line.

Payment: Participants will be compensated $50 for each completed assessment Contact: To inquire about participation and for more information about the NIH/University of Miami CFS TeleHealth Study, call 305/243-1434 or 305/355-9057 Source of information: Co-Cure Listserv, June 26, 2007, sent by P.A.N.D.O.R.A.
