For those who missed the live program, a video of Dr. Sarah Myhill's excellent Q&A on Theo Chalmers' May 20 "On The Edge" TV show (Sky Channel 200) is now offered at http://picasaweb.google.com/supportdrmyhill/videos#5473706453049169202.
Dr. Sarah Myhill, MD, explains her views on nutrition's crucial role in preventive healthcare, illness, and efficient mitochondrial energy production; her focus on asking questions about the causes of CFS and other health problems; and what patients & advocates can do to help her case versus the UK General Medical Council* (keep talking and writing about it to ensure it stays before the public eye).
Overall, she says, "I've got to a stage in my career where I can do what I think is right. And I don't care about the consequences of that.... If, as a result of this it raises people's awareness of the importance of this approach to treating diseases, then much good can come from it. I don't pretend to know all the answers, not by a long shot. But I am at least asking the right questions. And when you start asking the right questions about disease causation - about cancer, heart disease, chronic fatigue syndrome, migraine, irritable bowel syndrome, then wonderful things can happen."
* For those who haven't been following, Dr. Myhill is a highly respected UK-based fatigue specialist/researcher with a focus on combining conventional medicine with information about the health benefits of nutrition, and on patient education. The UK General Medical Council recently barred her for 18 months from prescribing pharmaceutical drugs - for sketchy (at least until better explained) reasons such as suggesting that another doctor prescribe a vitamin B-12 injection for an ME/CFS patient. She serves hundreds of patients with ME/CFS, fibromyalgia, environmental illness, MCS, IBS, thyroid problems, etc. See links to background bits at www.prohealth.com/library/showarticle.cfm?libid=15311
