On Sunday, Dec 12, Dr. Jamie Deckoff-Jones, MD, wrote on her X Rx blog (http://networkedblogs.com/bLuda) that she has been “given the incredible opportunity to chair the newly forming Clinical Advisory Board for the WPI. This group will interface with a Scientific Advisory Board to interpret the unfolding science for medical purposes.”
As she points out, the collaboration reflects the WPI’s dedication “to sharing any clinically relevant scientific information that may advance our current approach to the disease.”
For those who are not familiar with Dr. Deckoff-Jones’ blog, she and her daughter have tested positive for XMRV and started antiretroviral regimens “based on Whittemore-Peterson research” in March 2010. The blog is a record of the ups and downs of their experience, meant to inform others. And, as she points out in this post (“In Gratitude”), it seems she has “recovered enough for productivity,” a sign she has made progress, and that others can too.
