Clinically Studied Joint Relief Product for FM & ME/CFS
Stiffness in the morning, swelling during the day, and aches in the evening: All-day joint discomfort can disrupt an otherwise active and healthy life. Those with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) and Fibromyalgia (FM) are all too familiar with arthritis concerns and rheumatic changes that can inflame joints and soft tissues. Combined with feelings of daily fatigue, these aches and pains can be completely debilitating for some CFS and FM sufferers.

Drugs for joint pain abound, but many are associated with side effects, including digestive distress and liver risks.1 Evidence suggests some herbal remedies may be easier to tolerate while still providing potent anti-inflammatory activity that helps bring soothing relief to joints. Perhaps even more promising, research has shown that when certain botanicals and nutrients are combined, they appear to have complementary activities that may boost and multiply their benefits.

The Right Combination Unlocks Joint Relief

One combination formula, Articulin-F®, united four joint-soothing ingredients - Boswellia serrata, ashwagandha, turmeric  and zinc - in a formula designed to unleash their complementary activities. Clinically studied since 1991, the original Articulin-F® “herbo-mineral” formulation was found in research to produce a “significant drop in severity of pain and disability score” in osteoarthritis patients.2

The successful nutrient combination and ratios presented in Articulin-F® that appeared to unlock the best joint benefits in clinical research was as follows:
  • Ashwagandha 450 mg
  • Guggul (Boswellia serrata) 100 mg
  • Turmeric 50 mg
  • Zinc complex 50 mg
This herbo-mineral nutritional complex represented a breakthrough in the natural management of joint aches, stiffness and discomfort. With Articulin-F®, ancient Ayurvedic herbs that were believed to work were now validated by “gold standard” research: A double-blind, placebo-controlled, human clinical trial. Further, the clinical research appeared to back the theory that these herbs, when combined with zinc, seemed to achieve synergy: Working better combined together than when taken as standalone supplements.

Since that promising study in 1991, the Articulin-F® formula has become a top joint pain supplement for those seeking therapeutic results from gentle, well-tolerated herbal nutrition. The Articulin-F formulation has become especially popular among FM and CFS sufferers who may sometimes experience arthritic and rheumatic aches and stiffness, but do not wish to complicate their treatment regimen with additional pharmaceutical drugs.

Good To Great

Now, for the first time in nearly 25 years, the Articulin-F formula has been updated to be even more effective for FM/CFS and other arthritic pain sufferers. Since its initial discovery in 1991, science has investigated more deeply into each of the four ingredients found in Articulin-F. Novel processes  have created cutting edge forms of these time-tested herbs, including some patented and branded ingredients. The result may support even greater flexibility and joint comfort benefits than the original formula. The new Articulin-F lineup:
  • Zinc complex 50 mg as zinc picolinate
  • Ashwagandha 450 mg as KSM-66®
  • Guggul (Boswellia Serrata) 100 mg as Wokvel®
  • Turmeric 50 mg as Longvida®
In formulating with these advanced forms, Articulin-F improves absorption in many ways - maximizing each nutrient’s bioactivity and the entire formula’s combined potential.

But what are these ingredients, and how might their advanced new forms help bring even better results to FM/CFS joint pain sufferers?

Boswellia Serrata

An important component of ancient Ayurvedic wellness traditions, Boswellia Serrata - also known as Guggul or Indian Frankincense - is a resin drawn from the tree of the same name that grows in India’s dry desert climate. The sap supplies active ingredients known as boswellic acids that have long been prized for their ability to soothe inflammation. In clinical research, boswellia serrata extract has been found to boost knee flexibility and increase walking distance while reducing knee pain. 3
  • Enhancement: Wokvel®: Wokvel®, a patented form of Boswellia serrata gum resin, is one of the only forms of this herb that has been shown to be bioavailable: It is easily and completely absorbed and delivered efficiently into the bloodstream. A 100% natural form that is not chemically modified, Wokvel® is also standardized to mirror Boswellia’s “fingerprint” of boswellic acids, providing guaranteed nutritional activity.
Ashwagandha

Another key Ayurvedic herb, Ashwagandha is considered an “adaptogen” that helps bring the body into balance. Its complex profile includes numerous active ingredients; its alkaloid withanolides have been associated with potent anti-inflammatory activity that may help with joint aches.4
  • Enhancement: KSM-66®: KSM-66®, a patented form of ashwagandha, is standardized to supply 5% active withanolides, making it the highest potency product in the world. A “full spectrum” extract, KSM-66 mirrors ashwagandha’s natural botanical “fingerprint,” but is highly concentrated. KSM-66® is also the only branded ashwagandha that is 100% organic certified.
Turmeric

This “Golden Root” and Ayurvedic foundation herb supplies curcumin, an active antioxidant with anti-inflammatory actions that help to soothe achy muscles and joints. Curcumin may also support long-range joint wellness by defending cartilage cells against destructive enzymes associated with joint degradation.5
  • Enhancement: Longvida®: Despite its therapeutic efficacy, turmeric’s active curcumin is considered to be very poorly absorbed by the human body.6 Longvida® curcumin leverages patented SLP™ technology to produce an advanced form that is 65X more bioavailable than standard curcumin supplements. Longvida®  helps maximize curcumin delivery to inflamed joints and connective tissues for optimal soothing anti-inflammatory comfort.
Zinc

Zinc is an important antioxidant mineral that also possesses anti-inflammatory and immune-regulating activities.7 Zinc benefits may be limited by numerous absorption challenges, including malapbsorption syndromes like Crohn’s disease and joint concerns like rheumatoid arthritis.8,9 One study found that those who were taking zinc enjoyed significant improvements in joint swelling, morning stiffness, walking time, and self-reported impressions of joint comfort.10
  • Enhancement: Zinc Picolinate: Zinc picolinate is a preferred mineral form known as a “complex” that binds zinc together with a compound called picolinic acid. Clinical research has shown this binding process significantly boosts zinc absorption, helping to optimize this key mineral’s nutritional benefits.

The New Articulin-F: Life-Enhancing Potential for CFS/FM

Way back in 1991, Articulin-F skyrocketed to prominence for its efficacy and its rarity: Few combination products at that time ever received third-party validation from a strong clinical study. Today, Articulin-F’s redesign may elevate the formula even further - enhancing a clinically proven nutrient combination to even greater levels of efficacy by making each ingredient more absorbable and bioavailable than ever before.

For CFS/FM patients with joint aches, the new Articulin-F represents a therapy that is not just well-tolerated, but potentially one of the most effective strategies for easing arthritic and rheumatic discomfort and helping to restore an active lifestyle defined by carefree mobility and easy flexibility.
