Fifteen-year old Megan Palmer has had fibromyalgia since she was 11. Because her mother also has fibromyalgia, Megan has had lots of family support from the start. But knowing that not all kids with fibro have been so fortunate, Megan is reaching out to offer teens with FM a place where they can connect with one another.
is the new Facebook page Megan set up where teens and youth who have fibromyalgia can connect, share, express themselves, make new friends and learn from each other. She told ProHealth, “I hope this will help teens feel less alone!”
While it can be difficult to live with a chronic illness like fibromyalgia at any age, young people face their own unique set of challenges as they try to get through school, make friends and have a social life. It's important for them to have a place where they can communicate with other kids their age facing similar issues.
If you know any young people with fibromyalgia, be sure to share this Facebook page with them. You can find Fibromyalgia Youth HERE
