What is Panthethine & Why Do I Need It?

Pantethine is the biologically active form of Pantothenic acid (vitamin B5), an antioxidant and anti-stress vitamin. Pantethine is the chief precursor to coenzyme A, the most active metabolic enzyme in the human body. Metabolic enzymes influence the body’s cells and blood and assist chemical reactions that control metabolism.

Coenzyme A is essential to supplying the body with an adequate amount of energy to function at the cellular level. Coenzyme A strengthens the immune system and enhances the body’s ability to cope with stress. Deficiency manifests itself in a variety of mentally and physically detrimental ways. Symptoms reported include depression, anxiety, loss of appetite, fatigue, and an excessive desire to sleep.

Pantethine is often used to manipulate cholesterol levels. It can lower “bad” LDL cholesterol and triglyceride levels while simultaneously raising the “good” HDL cholesterol. Studies have proven that total cholesterol levels were lowered by 19%, LDL cholesterol levels were lowered by 21%, serum triglycerides were reduced by 32% and HDL cholesterol increased by 23%. Pantothenic acid is not able to produce these results.

In addition to the phenomenal beneficial effect pantethine has on cholesterol, preliminary research suggests that pantethine:

  • Fights aging
  • Supports adrenal & sex hormone production
  • Maintains blood sugar levels
  • Strengthens the immune system
  • Aids Detoxification
  • Offers Cataract protection
  • Helps the body cope with stress
  • Assists in weight loss
  • Increases utilization of fats, proteins, and carbohydrates
