Studied health benefits

Fasting Mimicking Diets (FMDs) like Prolon® have been studied extensively in clinical research for years. One study reported a reduction in biological age by approximately 2.5 years.1 Other studies have shown improvements in:

What's in the meal kit?

This kit contains a 5-day supply of the Prolon® Fasting Nutrition Program. Eat and drink the food as instructed for five continuous days. No other food should be consumed during the 5-day period. Unlimited amounts of water and herbal teas are allowed.

Prolon® is a 5-day meal program providing about 1150 calories on Day 1 and approximately 800 calories on Days 2-5. Studies show that a very low-calorie diet (VLCD) of 800 calories per day can mimic important aspects of fasting and may offer similar benefits.

Prolon® consists of proprietary plant-based soups, bars, drinks, snacks, teas and supplements – all designed to maximize the protective effects related to fasting, while providing micronutrient nourishment and minimizing hunger and the burdens of fasting. The program covers a period of five continuous days.

Fasting diets like Prolon® activate autophagy, a natural process where cells break down and eliminate old proteins and other unwanted substances. During periods of reduced nutrient intake, these breakdown products are repurposed as fuel, helping to sustain the body and in the process promote cellular renewal.

Fasting diets like Prolon® primarily support three key nutrient-sensing pathways: IGF-1, mTOR, and PKA. PKA responds mainly to sugars and carbohydrates, IGF-1 to protein (especially animal protein), and mTOR to IGF-1 and amino acids. These pathways interact to support cell growth and initiate a stress-resistant fasting state.

Considerations

The Prolon® meal kit contains products with soy, nuts, celery, oats, and sesame and should not be used if you have allergies to any of these ingredients.

Although fasting is safe for most people, you should talk to your healthcare provider before beginning any diet or diet program to ensure it is safe and right for you.

If you are underweight, have an eating disorder, have a pre-existing health condition or are taking any prescription medications, consult your healthcare provider before starting a fast.

It’s best to avoid strenuous exercise during the 5-day program.
