Beat the January Blues with These Mood-boosting Tips

Beat the January Blues with These Mood-boosting Tips

In the cold, dark winter months when the holidays are over and our bank accounts are still recovering, we may experience the worst of the winter woes. Appearing on Cityline TV with host Tracy Moore, alternative health expert Bryce Wylde, BSc, DHMHS brings viewers some good news by discussing how you can defeat the January blues. A new alarm clock, morning exercise and supplementing with ProHealth Longevity's Uthever NMN are some of Wylde’s suggestions that may help boost your energy and mood.

When daylight dwindles, your circadian rhythm may get thrown off, making it difficult to get proper sleep. ProHealth Longevity’s Uthever NMN may help balance sleep-wake cycles by pushing the “big red reset button on the circadian rhythm,” explains Wylde. A good night’s sleep enables you to better manage stress and wake up feeling rested and refreshed.

Wylde describes NMN as “an ingredient found in nature.” Along with improved sleep, ProHealth Longevity’s Uthever NMN helps to boost energy at the cellular level.

Other mood-boosting tips Wylde suggests include:

  • Wake up with artificial light. “We should be waking up at the same time every morning. That’ll help your circadian rhythm,” says Wylde. But waking up in the winter when the sun has yet to rise might not be so easy. Wylde suggests waking up with an artificial light alarm clock that mimics the sunrise.

  • Do 30 minutes of HITT in the morning. “Get your HITT on.” Wylde explains how high intensity workouts can increase dopamine and boost energy levels.

  • Try contrast therapy during your morning shower. Start your shower hot, “almost uncomfortably hot,” says Wylde. “Quickly flip that over to cold for one minute. Then go back to hot for one minute, and then end on cold … It will boost your mood for the rest of your day, I promise.”

  • Take an uninterrupted 30-minute break. Wylde stresses the importance of taking a half-hour break in the middle of each day. Unplug from your phone and “be mindful of what you’re eating.”

  • Supplement your diet with mood-boosting vitamins. Supplementing with B vitamins, 5HTP and ProHealth Longevity’s Uthever NMN may help improve your mood when you aren’t getting enough of these nutrients from diet alone.

What have you done for your cells lately? If you are feeling the winter blues and a little more sluggish lately, consider safely increasing your cellular energy by boosting your NMN levels with ProHealth Longevity NMN.
